Steel Skies
Welcome. This forum is the home of a Warrior Cats RP with three Clans. These Clans have several differences from the original four, but should not be too drastically different from what you are used to. New members are welcome, so after you read our rules, feel free to make a character! To learn more about the Clans of our role play, you can read below.
Origins
Before the HazeClan, SageClan, and RidgeClan of today came to be, a great number of cats lived in a forest far from the territory they occupy now. The cats would stick within family groups or wander completely alone, for the most part peaceful. This way of living worked well for many moons. However, prey started to become scarce as a drought hit the forest. The drought, unlike those from previous years, did not fade. Fires would hit the trees and burn down large expanses of territory. Cats fought over their nest places and their prey. Life began to be unsustainable between the scarcity, fighting, and flames.
At that time, some of the cats began to rely on each other for support instead of killing each other. They would make agreements, trades, and alliances. These cats were able to survive when the others could not. Among the groups, the largest were led by cats named Hawk, Haze, Percy, and Violet Petal. Hawk's group stuck to the thick of the forest and Percy's to the underbrush, but both Haze and Violet Petal's home areas had burned in the fires.
While Hawk and Percy's circles thrived, Haze and Violet Petal struggled to provide for their families and friends. Violet Petal, finding methods to survive in the dead landscape, named her group RidgeClan, and remained there for years as new growth emerged from the ashes. Following suit, Percy named his group SageClan after the plants among their part of the forest. But, despite the others' success, Haze and her cats still struggled; in their area of the rubble, little remained. Hawk, seeing their determination and suffering, combined his group with Haze's to have more cats and resources. He suggested naming their combined group HazeClan, after the leader that had given everything to keep her followers alive. So these cats, together, took to the forest.
Some time after the Clans were established, three of the leaders (Percy, Haze, and Violet Petal) were visited in the night by strange dreams of family and friends that had died in the time of the drought. The cats' bodies were brought back to the time they had been happiest, their injuries had been erased, and their feet sparkled like the night sky. They pronounced themselves cats of StarClan, and spoke to their dreamers of new traditions they would learn to uphold. Hawk was not visited by these dreams, but he was not upset for long, as he knew he could not yet manage the whole of HazeClan. From these dreams, the leaders were given new names- Percy was changed to Burnetstar to denounce his kittypet name and adopt that of an herb used to give strength, Haze was changed to Hazestar, and Violet Petal was changed to Violetstar. The Clans widely accepted StarClan's guidance, believing in their leaders and their ancestors' ability to direct them along the best path. Nonetheless, there were those who questioned or denied their existence, or shunned StarClan entirely in exchange for the guidance of the Dark Forest. It is unknown whether cats with these beliefs exist today.
The Journey
Now, the cats reside in a new land entirely, after their forest home was slowly destroyed and taken over by twolegs. Their expedition was long and difficult, lasting moons. The leaders of this time, ___star of SageClan, ___star of RidgeClan, and Owlstar of HazeClan had various struggles in bringing their Clans to the new land. Many cats died on the journey, particularly the old and the frail, even including Owlstar herself, who lost her several remaining lives unexpectedly from exhaustion. But the cats also found several new allies and Clanmates on the way, as some loners and even kittypets gave up their former lives to be among the Clans. Finally, SageClan, RidgeClan, and HazeClan are settling back into their old ways; friendships across Clans are pulling apart, camps are finishing their construction, and borders are relatively established. Everyone is busy rebuilding what they have lost. But what dangers lie within this new land?
